In February Rachel was commissioned to create an installation involving the community by The Word, National Centre for the Written Word at South Shields on the theme Shiver me Timbers. …. Rachel collaborated with internationally celebrated scenographer Shizuka Hariu, award-winning poet Anna Selby, soulful musician Hayley Youell and five local community groups to create To the Sea – a stunning and poetic light, film and music installation.
The director of the The Word, Richard Barber commented ‘It is everything we could have hoped for and more. Thank you Rachel’.
Huge congratulations to Rachel on a very successful exhibition, which is open until 31st December at The Word. For more information please visit: http://theworduk.org/whats-on/shiver-me-timbers/
